Charity Day is Friday, 6 December 2019 and the theme is 'Summer Lovin'.
The charity that we will be supporting is Cystic Fibrosis WA. Please arrange for your child to bring small denominations of 50c, $1 and $2 coins on the day as the amount of change available is limited. We are also trying to have a sustainable Charity Day, so students will have access to reusable cups and biodegradable trays, straws and cutlery. There will be designated bins for this. It would be greatly appreciated if you could remind your child to be sustainable and encourage them to create minimal waste on the day.
Students can come in free dress for a gold coin donation and are encouraged to wear bright colours with the theme for dress up being 'Summer Lovin'. Market stalls running through Period 4, lunch and Period 5 with the Variety Concert in Period 6 to finish off the day. The Refectory will be closed on the day but all other food stalls will operate from Period 4 onwards. Students may like to bring a snack with them for recess on the day.
Please ensure to give your child CASH to spend on Charity Day.
There will be food stalls, snacks stalls, drink stalls and activity stalls.
Please access the link for further information and the list of stalls and estimated prices: Charity_Day_2019_information.pdf

Are you aware of the Perth Modern School Uniform Requirements?
Uniform 2020
The summer holiday is an excellent time to sort through the old uniform and update as required. We now have Perth Modern School socks available for students to buy at the uniform shop. The socks are compulsory for all Year 7 and 8 students. Please remind yourself of the uniform standard as per the uniform policy. The second-hand uniform shop is always grateful of good quality uniform, so please pass your uniform there if appropriate.
As parents start purchasing uniform for 2020 please be aware of the following.
For day to day wear, boys are expected to wear the school shorts or trousers to school and not their P Ed shorts or tracksuit pants.
It is expected for the girl’s day to day uniform, that the length of the skirt, dress or shorts are knee length and to a maximum of no more than 10 cm above mid knee, so if purchasing for next year please keep this in mind and also allow for some growth of your child. There are trousers available for girls as well. P Ed shorts or tracksuit pants are not day to day uniform.
Shoes – the requirement is for black leather lace up shoes, (as shown in the uniform shop). These should not have mesh, sports logos or colour on the soles or shoe. Shoes should be fully enclosed to enable students to participate in practical subjects such as Science and Home Economics. Sock should be plain black or white ankle socks.
Students not wearing correct uniform in 2020, will be asked to change into correct uniform provided by Student Services. Those without an acceptable explanation will be issued with an infringement and may not be able to participate in social functions or co-curricular activities. Senior students may lose their leave pass privileges.
The full uniform policy is available on Connect. Your assistance in supporting the schools uniform policy is appreciated.
Please access the link below for images demonstrating the correct uniform and the school uniform list:
