ALL YEARS: A FAREWELL FROM SCHOOL CHAPLAIN NATALIE FERGUSSON
Dear parents and students
I would like to let you know that I have resigned my position as School Chaplain and will be moving to another school as I felt it was time for a change for me. I came to Mod in July 2016, so it’s been more than seven years of being a part of this unique school community. So many good time and great memories. I have had the privilege of working with such wonderful staff and being able to support beautiful students through their journey at high school. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of a great school community.
I hope Term 4 is not too crazy and you are all able to wind down to enjoy the summer break and the holiday festivities.
Someone special once said, “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - Winnie the Pooh.
With Best Wishes
Natalie Fergusson

Transperth Services often change at the start of the school year. These changes include School Specials, as well as regular routes that service schools in the area.
These changes are made in order to offer the best possible service across the network.
Students intending to travel to school via public transport should:
- Check transperth.wa.gov.au for information. As services change, website information will be updated.
- Plan your journey prior to the start of school. The JourneyPlanner will be updated with the new school services two weeks prior to the start of school. Remember to change the date in the JourneyPlanner to the first day of school
- Not every school will undergo changes, however all students should plan their journey before starting the new school year.
Students who take Bus Route 28 please make note the timetable has been changed to coincide with our timetable/bell times. This is great news as students no longer need to cross busy roads to get the CAT Bus.

YEAR 12: WACE EXAMS INFORMATION
WACE EXAMS INFORMATION
Personalised examination timetables for the Practical and Written ATAR course examinations are now available via the SCSA Student Portal. The personalised timetable and Photo ID MUST be taken to all written examinations and must be SIGNED prior to the first examination. Please note that students who are enrolled in a Year 12 ATAR course (Units 3 and 4) must sit the ATAR course examination. For ATAR courses with practical components, students must sit both the written and practical examinations.
Students who have Equitable Access Adjustments (EAA) must have a print out of their EAA at every exam. This is also available from the SCSA Student Portal.
If students do not sit an ATAR course examination and do not have an approved Sickness/Misadventure Application for that course, the grades for the pair of units completed in that year will not contribute to any of the WACE requirements. Consequently, a student may not meet the requirements to receive a WACE.
All details regarding the WACE exams and the Sickness and Misadventure process can be found on the SCSA website.
If you have any concerns about your child heading into the exam period, please contact Student Services.
Student and Pedestrian Safety
The Parents and Citizens Association has recently met with Main Roads to discuss pedestrian safety. Many hours of workshops has resulted in zero improvements to the pedestrian crossings on Thomas Street. We are told Main Roads has limited funding. If anyone has any political connections or experience that can help improve pedestrian safety the P&C would be very happy to hear from you.
P&C Second Hand Uniform Shop (SHUS)
The Second Hand Uniform Shop is located in the Andrews Building. The SHUS will be open on the second Monday (8.30am to 12.30pm) and the fourth Friday (8.30am to 1.30pm) of the month during school term.
Our opening days are:
Term 4:

- Monday, 13 November 8.30am to 12.30pm
- Friday, 24 November 8.30am to 1.30pm
The P&C SHUS volunteers are delighted to receive any good quality, clean and resaleable uniform items that are no longer required. Please hand the items in at reception or directly at the SHUS at any of our opening days.
Do you have some time? Can you help?
SHUS provides a valuable service and raises significant funds for the school. It is also a great opportunity for parents to get together, run the stall, socialise and see our kids during recess and lunchtime.
We are seeking new parents to take up this volunteer role. Training will be provided untill the beginning of 2024. You can choose the times/dates convenient to you. Please write to the P & C President or drop in at any of the SHUS opening days to discuss further. We are more than happy to assist you in your journey in managing SHUS from next year onwards
