ALL YEARS: FROM THE PRINCIPAL - FREE RAT TESTS
Dear Parent/Caregiver
Thank you once again for your continued support as we manage COVID-19 cases as they arise in the school community.
I wish to advise that free RAT tests for each student have now been delivered to the school.
These RATs will support our students to continue to attend school and will minimise disruption to their schooling. You will be able to test your child at home if they are feeling unwell. You can also use these RATs if your child is a close contact to enable them to test daily and continue to attend school, as long as they receive a negative result, remain asymptomatic, and wear a mask.
We will start handing out these RATs as follows:
- Years 9, 11 and 12: Thursday, 12 May during Period 4.
- Years 8 and 10: Friday, 13 May during Advocacy.
- Year 7: Thursday, 19 May during Period 4.
Tests are not be opened at school by students. Please note that RATs are labelled ‘Keep out of Reach of Children’ as a TGA requirement. As such, these RATs should not be opened by children and when used, must be either supervised or performed by an adult.
If your child is away when the distribution happens, we will contact them to organise an alternative collection date.
What to do if your child becomes symptomatic
Your child should stay home and be tested for COVID-19. You should notify the school if your child tests positive for COVID-19. Refer to healthywa.wa.gov.au for information on close contact definition, testing and isolation requirements.
Our new email address for all COVID-19 related information is: PerthModern.CovidSupport@education.wa.edu.au
Thank you for your continued efforts in keeping our school COVID-19 safe.
