Eligible parents are reminded that the deadline for submitting applications for the Secondary Assistance Scheme is Friday, 12 April 2019. Please see the Finance Staff for assistance at the finance desk – Ground Floor Foyer, Andrews Building.

Candidates who have a permanent or temporary disability, illness and/or specific learning disability that could disadvantage them in demonstrating their knowledge, skills and understandings in standard assessments may have their school apply to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority to sit ATAR course examinations under special arrangements.

Applications can be made for the written and/or practical examinations.

The granting of special examination arrangements is not automatic, but takes into account medical and/or psychometric evidence plus supporting school-based information related to the candidate’s ability to access the examination. The role of special examination arrangements is to provide reasonable access to an examination. Schools should ensure that they have placed on record all current medical/psychological documents that relate to their decision to trial special arrangements for the student. Each application is considered individually, with decisions based on the nature of each examination to be sat by the candidate.

Please submit your applications by Tuesday, 5 March 2019.

Please contact Penelope Radunovich on 9380 0510 or at Penelope.Radunovich@education.wa.edu.au

regarding applications for special exam arrangements.

The school swimming squad will train on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the UWA Aquatic Centre, starting on Tuesday, 5 February.  All squad members from 2018 will be sent an invitation via Consent2Go. Year 7 students will be given information during Advocacy on Wednesday, 6 February. Year 7 students who are competitive swimmers will then be sent an invitation to their Parent/Guardians email via Consent2Go and will be able to train from Tuesday, 12 February.

The school bus leaves the school basketball courts at 6.30am and students are in the water at UWA from 7.00am-8.00am. Students are then transported back to school on the school bus. Parents are able to drop their son or daughter at the pool if this is more convenient. All dates are included in the Consent2Go information and training will continue until Week 7.

Many interested students will already have a heavy club-training schedule and school training is not compulsory. The training is designed to complement other training, build team morale and to offer training for students not involved in a swim club outside school. Competitors for the school swim team for the A Division SSWA Carnival on Thursday, 21 March will be decided from times submitted from outside competitions and the House Swimming Carnival on Wednesday, 6 March. Students must have gained Parent/Guardian permission via Consent2Go to attend. There is no cost for training.
