World's Greatest Shave

On Friday 27 June, we had 5 amazing students who participated in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave, raising almost $6000 to support Australians living with blood cancer.  This is a fantastic achievement as each donation is vital in helping to support research and for providing care for families.

The concourse was crowded at lunchtime with students and staff showing their support of these committed students and the cause. Each participating student embraced the challenge, demonstrating the values of courage, compassion and commitment.  These students’ positivity and selflessness was a true reminder to us all that acts of kindness and demonstrating empathy has a significant impact on the life of others and brings attention to important issues.

To put the impact these students have made into perspective, the funds raised through their involvement is equivalent to supporting a vital blood cancer research program for an entire day. This kind of support enables researchers and clinicians to fast-track breakthrough therapies and diagnostics from the lab into clinics – making real change possible for Australians living with blood cancer.

A special mention of our wonderful students, Bhuvika G, Mohit N, Yvan J, Manas G and Aaron T for their courage and selflessness. Thank you also to everyone who coordinated the event, donated or came to show their support for this very worthy cause.

COMMUNITY DAY

Community Day was held on Wednesday, 2 April. Pop Culture was the dress-up theme for the day and the school was awash with colour, creativity, unity and excitement.

The real highlight of the event was raising approximately $14,500 for FightMND. The generosity and enthusiasm of our students and families made this achievement possible. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated.

The day was packed with vibrant stalls, engaging activities, delicious food and thrilling games. Hair colouring, face painting and quirky Brain Rot unleashed everyone’s creativity. Highlights of the day included the Big Freeze, the Students vs Staff volleyball match and the House Mini Games and debating showcases made the event truly wonderful. Thank you to our Year 8, 10 and 12 Advocacy groups for organising the stalls and activities and the Student Council for their boundless energy and ideas.

We’re incredibly proud of our community for coming together with such enthusiasm and spirit. Thank you to everyone in the school community.  Your contribution to FightMND truly embodies the power of community.

Push-Up Challenge

In June, students from Perth Mod got involved in The Push-Up Challenge with the aim to complete 3,214 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness and funds for mental health. The number 3,214 is significant as it represents the number of people who died by suicide in Australia in 2023 (the most recent stats).

Thank you to our Push-Up Ambassadors, Sana K, Dylan M and Arnav N and all the students who participated in the challenge to help reach their goal and to help push for better mental health.

Perth Modern raised an amazing $5151 with all funds going to Lifeline.

MODCLUBS - SEMESTER 2 LAUNCHING TERM 3 WEEK 3

We're excited to announce that ModClubs will commence from Monday 4 August. These clubs run before and after school on Monday to Friday, are optional, not assessed, and continue to be extremely popular with students. ModClubs are designed to foster a strong sense of belonging by connecting students with peers who share similar interests, in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Many clubs span Years 7–12, offering valuable leadership opportunities for older students. We would like to acknowledge and thank our dedicated staff who generously volunteer their time and expertise to make these enriching experiences possible for our students.

Please note: ModClub selection is separate from Subject Selection 2026. Students will receive a different SSO login, and parents/carers will be issued a unique ParentPIN to authorise selections.

ModClubs will run until 12 December, and students are expected to commit for the full semester. Attendance is recorded via Compass. Details about available clubs and login information will be shared early next term. The opening date and time for selections will be advertised through Compass. As many clubs fill quickly, we encourage families to plan carefully before submitting preferences.

A quiet reminder: Our school library is open until 4:30pm each day, providing a calm and supportive space for students who wish to study privately or work independently.
