Warmer weather will soon be upon us and this can trigger symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and asthma. Some of the symptoms include: frequent sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy ears, nose, throat and roof of the mouth, red, itchy, swollen and/or watery eyes and headaches.
If hay fever is left untreated it can lead to poor quality sleep, tiredness and daytime sleepiness.
Ideally students should take required medication at home. Please ensure your child only carries a day’s supply of medication with them to school for their own use.
Seek advice from your pharmacist or doctor about medications that will relieve symptoms of hay fever.

YEAR 12 ATAR COURSE STUDENTS: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
As students complete courses and examinations over the following months, it is important to read and follow information from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA). Letters to students and parents/guardian 1 have been sent from the school on behalf of SCSA to email accounts. In addition, a copy of each letter has been placed in the Connect Library in the SCSA Folder.
All students have been requested to provide a ‘best contact’ mobile number by logging in to the SCSA Student Portal. Should the Authority need to contact students urgently via SMS during the examination period, they will contact them on this number. As arrangements may change at short notice, student’s individual SCSA timetables need to be checked online prior to each examination. If required, the Authority and the school are well prepared with COVID-19 planning with an examinations COVID-19 advice line (9273 6708 - from Wednesday, 22 September 2021) and social media updates from the SCSA Facebook accounts. We ask that you please join and follow the SCSA page.
ATAR Course Examinations
As described on Page 10 of the Year 12 Information Handbook Part I, “In the context of ATAR courses in the WACE, the term ‘complete’ requires that a student sits the ATAR course examination or has an approved SCSA Sickness/Misadventure Application for not sitting the examination in that course. Students who do not sit the ATAR course examination will not have a course mark or grade recorded on their WASSA, nor will they receive an ATAR course report”. In other words, students will not be eligible for WACE nor will they receive an ATAR unless they sit/attempt/”complete” all exams.
Please be aware of this requirement as achievement of WACE and an ATAR is required for university acceptance whether through an early entry pathway or state based application body (eg. TISC, VTAC, QTAC, UAC, UTAS, SATAC).
To achieve WACE all requirements must be met as per the Year 12 Information Handbook Part I.
ATAR Year 12 course School Examination Information
School examination timetables will be distributed to students by Friday, 10 September. Students will bring both their individual timetable and Photo ID to each school examination held during Monday, 13 to Friday, 24 September.
