Students should return to school only when fever free for a minimum of 24 hours.

ALL YEARS: ESAFETY ONLINE SUPPORT FOR PARENTS
ESAFETY ADVICE FOR PARENTS
Esafety has a website dedicated to providing information on how to ensure a safe online environment for children.
There is also helpful information to guide parents when issues arise including Reporting Abuse.
Sometimes, when students are involved in online groups they may experience a situation that is not a positive one.
We would encourage anyone in this situation to seek help and this web page is an ideal space for that first line of information.
At Perth Modern we have multiple programs set up to assist students to create positive experiences online, however, should these or the eSafety resources not help your child in their situation, they are more than welcome to seek support from the Student Services team at school PerthModern.StudentServices@education.wa.edu.au
DIGITAL FOOTPRINTS
As part of the curriculum, when using the internet, we encourage students to have a safe, positive experience online and to be aware of their digital footprint that could adversely affect them in the future. Please discuss with your child their online interactions. Include in your conversations school apps like Connect and OneNote, different social media platforms, and email communications.
We encourage students that ride to school to ensure they have a robust lock on their bike such as the D lock style.
Students can also use https://bikelinc.com.au/ to register their bike details.
ALL YEARS: ROAD SAFETY AND PARKING
Parking Do's and Dont's
A number of parents have been pulling up on Roberts Road with students jumping out quickly. This is not a safe practice on such a busy road.
We ask that you use the dedicated drop off zone on Roberts Road or Subiaco Road to pull in and drop your child off in a timely manner.
Hamilton Street and Mueller Park next to the school also have road side parking where students can safely be dropped off and walk into the school.
Please do not park in the drop off zones or on the basketball courts. This is for the safety of your children and so no damage occurs to cars.
We of course encourage the use of Public Transport options where possible.
Safe Crossing
A large portion of students use public transport to and from school and are therefore required to cross busy roads around the school.
Please remind your child to cross where it is safe on marked footpaths and islands and only when the green man is present on traffic light signals.
A reminder to parents and students that you can access the Perth Modern School calendar via Schoolzine. The calendar features events that impact a full year group or whole school events and not those specific to smaller groups.
When receiving an Information Update please click on the School Calendar on the top menu bar, this will take you to a new screen in which you can select and filter particular year groups or view whole school items. You will also see a snapshot view currently on your side panel (as shown below).
