SENIOR YEARS STUDENTS: SEMESTER 1 EXAMINATION TIMETABLE
The Semester 1 Examination Timetable for Year 12, 11 and 10 courses can be viewed in Connect via the provided pathway:

The guidelines and conditions described in the SCSA Year 12 Information Handbook 2020 Part II Examinations and the Perth Modern School Senior Years Assessment Policy 2021, are available to download from Connect and apply for these school examinations.
- During the examination period, students are required to attend school only on the days and times scheduled for their examination/s. The school provides quiet study areas for students who choose to remain at school.
- One week prior to the examinations, students will receive their individual timetable for written examinations and will be given instructions by their teacher for practical/performance/oral examinations.
- The schedule for practical examinations will be given to students by their course teachers.
- Students will take in to each examination their Personal Examination Timetable, and photographic identification (such as a Smart Rider or Card Driver’s Licence) and make it available for the supervisor to see.
- It is important students read the Instructions to Students carefully on the reverse side of their individual examination timetables.
ALL YEARS: NEW UNIFORM ITEMS IN STOCK
Senior Years Uniform
A reminder that the Senior Years uniform is in stock at the school Lowes shop, online and the Kardinya store. These items include a polo shirt and plaid skirt.
Current Senior students are encouraged to purchase and wear their new uniform with pride however for current Year 9 students entering Senior Years next year, the new uniform will be a requirement.
Outdoor Jacket
The new outdoor jacket for all students is also now available. As the weather turns cooler, obtain your jacket before the rush. Students now must not purchase older style jackets that are being phased out.
Second hand jumpers are available for $10 at the Finance Desk (open 8.15am - 3.45pm).
Label All School Uniform Items
Parents are reminded about the importance of labelling your child's possessions including all uniform items so they can be returned to your child if collected by Lost Property. Please label clearly with their first and last name as well as their advocacy group. Unfortunately without a name on the item we cannot ensure your child's property is returned. Items held in Lost Property are only held for one month and if uniform items have not been collected they will then be donated to the Second Hand Uniform Shop.
Lost Property Process
Students can visit AL4 during advocacy on Monday and Friday to check the lost propety. If the item cannot be found, students are to complete the details of the missing item on a red ticket. The item will be checked for over two weeks and returned to the student if found.
ALL YEARS: ARTS AND TECHNOLOGY FESTIVAL WEDNESDAY, 12 MAY
It is with pleasure that we invite you to attend the Arts and Technology Festival – ‘eVision.’
Come along to the Mills Building from 6.00pm for a visual smorgasbord of Arts & Technologies student work. Be entertained by our newly formed Circus Troupe. Prepare to be dazzled and surprised. The Student Council will be selling drinks and sausages-in-a-bun upon entry.

ALL YEARS: DANCE FOR SICK KIDS
This May, we need to put our dancing shoes on to make a difference and help over 60,000 families with a seriously ill or injured child that rely on Ronald McDonald House Charities in Australia each year.
We would like as many people as possible to join our school fundraising team so we can help even more sick children. Dance for Sick Kids is a 7-day dance challenge held during National Families Week, 15-21 May.
To kick off the Arts and Technology Festival next week, students are invited to join us in Tyler McCusker on Monday, 10 May during advocacy to join the Perth Mod dance party, bring along a gold coin donation to participate.

Disconnected by Donna Hughes
A bunch of teens find themselves in Saturday detention with six hours to kill. Everyone’s devices have been confiscated. How will they pass the time? Out of their comfort zones with no headphones and technology, the uneasy companions are forced to interact face to face. A highly physical sequence of events brings everyone to a stunned halt: the most forgettable girl in school may well be the glue to their social world.

Tournament of Minds Years 7 - 10 Students

Objective: TOM is an annual competition designed to encourage the development of higher order thinking skills and creativity in students. The competition is suitable for Years 7-10 students who have a passion for problem solving, team work and performing on stage, enabling them to demonstrate their skills and talents in an exciting, vibrant and public way. Future Problem Solvers Years 7 - 11 Students

Objective: Students will be working in teams to participate in the Global Issues Problem Solving Competition where they will learn, practise and apply the skills in problem solving.
ALL YEARS: STUDENT MEDICAL CONDITIONS
If your child has a medical condition that requires medication, please ensure that they always carry it with them. For example epipens, ventolin, hay-fever/allergy medication, analgesics etc. Students are advised to bring no more than one day’s medication to school at any time.

A reminder there is currently no onsite parking at the school due to the Auditorium construction.
Kiss 'n’ Ride: There is a Kiss 'n’ Ride drop off in the Roberts Car Park and one located next to the basketball courts and the Tyler McCusker Sports Centre. Please follow the directions as per the line markings, keep to the left, pull up and leave in a timely manner to avoid bottle necks.
The drop off zones are often busy, so please pull up and leave in a timely manner to ensure traffic is not blocked. This also includes Hamilton Street where some students are dropped off.
It is advisable for students to take public transport to and from school if possible.
Parents needing to access the uniform shop or who have a meeting with a member of staff, will need to find street parking on Subiaco Road or Hamilton Street, or access the verge adjacent to the school oval on Subiaco Road.

ALL YEARS: ABSENTEE PROCEDURES
Late Arrivals and Leaving Early
All students are required to sign in at Student Services if they arrive late to school. Students must present a completed note from a parent in the back of their diary to Student Services to obtain a Leave Pass when leaving the school early.
Absentees
To advise the school of absences, please email or SMS the Name of student, Advocacy and Reason for Absence.

To improve our communications with parents and to ensure that our attendance records are accurate, Student Services will be sending out a weekly letter identifying unresolved absences (per period or day) and late arrivals for their child. If you receive one of these letters, please assist the school by completing the instructions on the letter. We thank you for your assistance.
Year 12 Process
Year 12 students with a Leave Pass are welcome to exit the school grounds during a free or study period. Students are required to tap out at an Academy portal. Students who have a scheduled class following a free period are expected to tap back in at an Academy portal.
Students who are required to leave early for an appointment or if they are feeling unwell during a sheduled class are to follow the same process as all students and sign out at Student Services with a note. A Leave Pass cannot be used in the situation.

YEAR 10 STUDENTS: FREE MENINGOCOCCAL IMMUNISATION
The Department of Health is offering a free, one dose, meningococcal ACWY immunisation program for Year 10 students. Students in Year 10 have received an information pack containing details of the program and a consent form for parents to sign. Please ensure all forms are completed and returned to school by Friday, 14 May (even if declining the vaccine).

YEARS 10, 11 AND 12 ATAR STUDENTS: ONLINE STUDENT DECLARATION AND PERMISSION THURSDAY, 17 JUNE
The school is seeking your assistance to complete information about the online Student Declaration and Permission procedure.
This applies to the following students:
- All Year 12 students
- Year 11 students who are studying ATAR Units 3 and 4 and sitting the 2021 ATAR course examinations
- Year 10 students, who have been given approval to study ATAR Units 3 and 4 and sit the 2021 ATAR course examinations
The Student Declaration and Permission Instructions have been saved to the Connect Library > Curriculum, Assessment & Reporting > School Curriculum Standards Authority (SCSA)
This is to be completed through the SCSA student portal. The portal is a space for students enrolled in Year 12 courses to check and access personal information that relates to their WACE.
Students are requested to complete this online process by Thursday, 17 June 2021.
YEAR 12 ATAR STUDENTS : FINAL DATES TO WITHDRAW FROM YEAR 12 (AT) ATAR COURSES
Please review the final dates to withdraw from Year 12 (AT) ATAR courses below:
- Thursday, 22 July 2021 – final date for withdrawing students from Year 12 (AT) ATAR courses with practical examination components. No changes will be made to student enrolments in these courses after this date.
- Monday, 9 August 2021 – final date for withdrawing students from Year 12 (AT) ATAR courses which do not have practical examination components. No changes will be made to student enrolments in these courses after this date.
Please note this applies to all students completing a Year 12 (AT) course - even those accelerating in a year level other than Year 12.

University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) 2021
The 2021 booking date deadline for UCAT is the Monday, 17 May. If you are applying for medical, dental and clinical sciences degree programmes you will need to book in to sit the UCAT. A reminder that school assessments take priority so please consider this when booking a time/date.

AMP's Tomorrow Fund 2021
For the eighth year, the AMP Foundation is again offering $1 million in Tomorrow Fund grants for amazing Australians doing great things.

Master Mind Australia Tuition
Atarget’s Master Class Program for Term 2 will commence Saturday, 24 April but enrolment can be made at any stage throughout the term. The classes will be held on the Christ Church Grammar School campus for all students from Years 7-12.
