You may have read the article in The West Australian today regarding Perth Modern School hiring school facilities to the Providence Church.  

The Providence Church are members of the public and operate after hours. They are separate to the school and are not doing any work on behalf of the school.  

The Providence Church is a private community group hiring the school facilities and has met all Department of Education guidelines for hirers. Hiring of public school facilities to community groups after hours is common across schools.  This is in accordance with the School Education Act 1999 and the Department of Education’s ‘Community Use of Public School Facilities Policy’. There is no contact between community hirers and students during school hours.

I trust this clarifies the School’s position on hiring our facilities to Providence Church and other outside organisations.
