We are thrilled to be able to have our first music performance of the year on Saturday, 8 August 2020.

This concert will feature the Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia, Senior Wind Orchestra, Wind Band 2, Wind Band 3, Ripieno, Senior Jazz and Chamber Choirs and Ensembles. Members of the school community are invited to book to see the ensemble(s) of their choice perform at this exciting event. ICAS testing numbers for 2020 have now been finalised for Year 7 – 10 testing as per the ICAS Covid-19 testing schedule. Testing will take place between Monday, 17 August and Friday, 4 September.  Sample questions to prepare for ICAS are available by clicking on the following link.

As per our testing schedule, the following ICAS testing will take place at school this year;

Due to the cancellation of NAPLAN 2020 and therefore the loss of the opportunity to prequalify for the WACE literacy and numeracy requirements, the current Year 9 students have been provided with an opportunity to sit the OLNA in the week beginning Monday, 10 August, 2020 on an opt in basis. The OLNA is an online literacy and numeracy assessment. It is designed to enable students to successfully meet the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) requirement of demonstrating the minimum standard of literacy and numeracy. Information was sent to parents via email to register your intention to opt in for testing.  We ask that if you have missed this email, please call or email the Careers centre at Perth Modern School by close of business tomorrow Friday, 31 July 2020 to register your child.

The reading and numeracy tests each comprise 45 multiple‐choice questions. Students have 50 minutes to complete each of these tests. The writing test is a typed response of up to 600 words. Students have 60 minutes to complete the writing test. Students will use their own devices under teacher supervision.

The final date for withdrawing students from ATAR courses which do not have practical examination components is Monday, 10 August 2020. No changes will be made to student enrolments in these courses after this date.  Students are strongly encouraged to finalise withdrawals from ATAR courses by Thursday, 6August to ensure successful receipt of data by SCSA. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS ARE ABLE TO BE ACCEPTED.
