YEAR 9 STUDENTS: OLNA TEST OPPORTUNITY
Due to the cancellation of NAPLAN 2020 and therefore the loss of the opportunity to prequalify for the WACE literacy and numeracy requirements, the current Year 9 students are being provided with an opportunity to sit the OLNA in August, 2020 on an opt in basis. Information was sent to parents via email to register your intention to opt in for testing. We ask that if not completed already, please provide your intention to us as soon as possible.
Please note, parents have been sent the appropriate, personalised link following analysis of student data which will either provide the opportunity to opt in to:
-
- Reading, Numeracy and Writing or;
- Reading and Numeracy where your child has pre-qualified for the Writing component based on Year 7 NAPLAN data.
NOTE: The OLNA is an online literacy and numeracy assessment. It is designed to enable students to successfully meet the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) requirement of demonstrating the minimum standard of literacy and numeracy.
YEAR 12: FINAL DATES TO WITHDRAW FROM COURSES
HIGH IMPORTANCE
Final dates for Year 12 students to withdraw from courses, 2020
Students are reminded of the final dates to withdraw from Year 12 courses:
- Thursday, 23 July 2020 – final date for withdrawing students from ATAR courses with practical examination components. No changes will be made to student enrolments in these courses after this date.
- Monday, 10 August 2020 – final date for withdrawing students from ATAR courses which do not have practical examination components. No changes will be made to student enrolments in these courses after this date.
LATE SUBMISSIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED
Students who are enrolled in a Year 12 ATAR course must sit the external examination in that course. For ATAR courses with a practical component, students must complete both the written and practical examinations. Students who do not sit an ATAR course examination and do not have an approved SCSA sickness/misadventure application for that course, will not have the grades for the pair of units completed in that year contribute to the calculation of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
