On behalf of the staff, I wish all Perth Modern School families and their loved ones a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. We look forward to seeing students refreshed and ready for another successful year of learning and wonderful opportunities on Monday, 3 February 2020.

The P&C Picnic and Christmas Concert held on Friday, 6 December was a fabulous occasion to bring the school community together in Christmas spirit. It included an array of wonderful activities and festivities including a dance concert, heritage trail tours, performances from varoius music ensembles, a sustainability stall and food vans. Thanks to P&C President Phil Marshall and the P&C Executive, in particular Sharon Williams, for the tremendous amount of work they put in to the event to make it such a fabulous success.

Students from the Class of 2019 will be receiving their WACE results later this week and a full set of results will be featured in Saturday's The West Australian newspaper. An email will be sent to all parents with an update on their overall results and awards.

Lowes will be opening the Uniform Shop at Perth Modern School on:

Friday, 31 January 2020 9.00am-3.00pm
Monday, 3 February 2020 8.00am-4.00pm.

From Thursday, 6 February the Campus shop will return to normal trading hours Mondays and Thursdays during the term from 8.00am - 11.30am.

Outside of these hours Uniform items can be purchased at Lowes Kardinya Park or online.

Pleaase visit www.lowes.com.au to purchase items online and from the Lowes Kardinya Park store which trades seven days a week.

The school’s phone and office will be closed for the holidays from Friday, 20 December 2019 from 1.00pm and will reopen at 8.00am on Monday, 3 February 2020. Teaching and the majority of support staff will not be available for contact until late January.

We invite the parents/caregivers of students in the Middle Years (Years 7-9) in 2020 to the Perth Modern School Positive Education Presentation to be held on Friday, 31 January, 2020. As part of the presentation, you are invited to drinks and nibbles with the P&C beforehand.

In 2020 Perth Modern will be implementing aspects of the Positive Education philosophy. Positive Education is founded on the principals of positive psychology, developing skills to enhance wellbeing and resilience in students. In this presentation you will learn about the science of Positive Education and wellbeing principals designed to draw on students’ individual strengths and better support your child to flourish.

This presentation is for parents only and due to limited space one parent per family is advisable to attend, however both parents are able to attend if required.

Parents with a child in Year 7 in 2020 are invited to a parent information evening at the school on Tuesday, February 18 from 6.00pm. Please note this is a parent only event.
