ALL YEARS - 2025 CONTRIBUTIONS AND CHARGES
The booklets below contain essential information to help your child continue their learning journey for 2025. A personal account showing the subjects your child will be taking in 2025 will be posted and should arrive by 1 December 2024.
Under Government guidelines, the school requests contributions from Year 7 - 10 families to assist in the education of their children. These are used to provide resources for the compulsory subject areas of Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Technology and Enterprise, The Arts, Health and Physical Education. This includes hire of textbooks or the provision of text materials in the lower years.
You are welcome to pay your 2025 account prior to the end of this year. Parents/guardians are encouraged to pay Contributions and Charges by the end of Term 1 2025.

ALL YEARS - WEEK 10 INFORMATION
Mod Clubs and School Library Hours
Our Semester 2 Mod Clubs have provided many opportunities for student learning, leadership, curiosity, creativity and fun with friends and staff. We thank our committed teaching staff who have shared their passions and love of learning through these extra curricular activities. All before and after school clubs will have their final sessions starting Monday Week 9 and finish Friday, 6 December. 2025 Semester 1 Mod Clubs will be advertised when students return, and will restart Week 3 of Term 1.
Library hours for the final week of the term 9-12 December will be 8.30am - 3.30pm, closing at 2.35pm on Wednesday, 11 December. The Joseph Parsons Library will provide student supervision between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Wednesday, 5 February 2025.
For the last week of this school term all students will need to be make their way home or be collected at the end of the school day, that is 3.30pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and 2.35pm on Wednesday.
Instrumental Lessons, Ensemble Rehearsals and Instruments
In Week 10 there will be no instrumental lessons or ensemble rehearsals. Students should arrive for the 8.50am start of the school day and leave at the end of the school day. Students are requested to take their instruments home over the holidays, as the storage rooms will be undergoing maintenance.
ALL YEARS - SUPERVISION AFTER SCHOOL
Parents are reminded that students are to depart the school grounds at the end of the school day unless they are in a supervised school activity or in the library (open until 4.30pm).
ALL YEARS - LOWES UNIFORM SHOP OPENING HOURS OVER THE HOLIDAYS
The Lowes Uniform Shop at Perth Modern School will be open on the days below:
- Monday, 3 February 8.00am-4.00pm (additional day)
- Tuesday, 4 February 8.00am-4.00pm (additional day)
- Thursday, 6February 8.00am-11.30am (Back to normal trade)
The last day of trade for 2024 will be Thursday, 12 of December 8.00am-11.30am.
The Lowes Shop at Kardinya Park will be open every day of the school holidays except Christmas Day.
ALL YEARS - HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR ITALIAN STUDENTS IN FEBRUARY 2025
The Languages Department is looking for families who may be interested to host an Italian student from our sister school CambiSerrani from Falconara (near Ancona, Marche region) from 25 February - 3 March 2025. ALL YEARS - SAVER PLUS FOR EDUCATION EXPENSES
Eligible parents and families can access Saver Plus and $500 to help with their child’s education costs. The money families receive from the program, and the budgeting skills they gain, help kids to be prepared for school with all the right gear.
What are the eligible savings goals?
Eligible savings goals are education related products or services that:
- Assist a primary or secondary school student’s education.
Saver Plus will chat with your families about eligibility:
Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card
- Payment from Centrelink and
- Earning an income (employment, carer’s payment, or child support).

ALL YEARS - STREET DOCTOR CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Help spread some Christmas cheer in 2024!
Perth Modern School families are invited to help those less fortunate this Christmas by donating brand new items to the Street Doctor Christmas Appeal.
In an empty shoebox, add a few items from the list of suggestions. Do not wrap the items. Wrapping paper can be donated as well. The deadline for donations has been extended to Tuesday, 26 November.
Deliver your items to Student Services and our Year 8 elves will pack and wrap the items to be delivered to disadvantaged families in Perth.
ALL YEARS - CHOREOGRAPHIC DANCE NIGHT FRIDAY, 29 NOVEMBER
Dental Care in High School
The School Dental Service provides free general dental care to eligible school children at school-based Dental Therapy centres. The service is available to students up to age 16 or until the end of year 11, whichever comes first.
The care includes routine dental examinations or check-ups, oral health advice, extractions, fillings, X-rays and fissure sealants. Specialist dental services such as oral surgery and orthodontics are not provided, and patients will be referred for these services.

YEAR 10 - 2025 ISC SPACE BOOT CAMP
The 2025 UWA ISC Space Boot Camp is open for admissions from students who are eager to explore the depths of space! Students will get to experience a variety of space science activities, including visiting different WA-based venues, hearing from space scientists and building relationships with some incredible like-minded students. The Space Boot Camp is open to all students entering Year 11 in 2025 from across WA, with no prerequisites necessary - just a passion for space science and a desire to learn! Please note that this is not an overnight camp. Contact details:

Friends of Music (FoM)
The next Friends of Music meeting is at 7.00pm on Monday, 9 June. Help us coordinate our Winter concerts and hear news about the next international tour! Join in-person in the Beasley Boardroom or on-line via Teams.

Notice of P&C General Meeting
Our next P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday, 10 June at 6.30pm in the McCusker Boardroom in the Beasley Building. Scheduled P&C meetings are Tuesday of week 3 and week 7 each school term. All parents and interested citizens are welcome. The agenda and instructions to join online will be available on our Facebook page. If you are coming along in person, please come for an informal catch-up from 6.00pm. The formal meeting (and online) will start at 6.30pm.

P&C Second Hand Uniform Shop (SHUS)
The Second-Hand Uniform Shop is located in the Andrews Building.

Discover Sailing Centre
Tackers is an Australian Sailing program for 7 – 12 year olds to teach kids the basics of sailing in a safe and fun environment. Children do not require any previous sailing experience or Hillarys Yacht Club membership to participate. All equipment is provided (including life jackets) until they move up into the Optimist Green Fleet to begin club racing. All courses are delivered by Australian Sailing qualified instructors. Our Teens program is aimed at ages 12+.
