WACE: SPECIAL EXAMINATION ARRANGEMENTS
SPECIAL EXAMINATION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2024 ATAR STUDENTS
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) recognises that individual students, under circumstances outlined in the special provisions policy, may need special external assessment arrangements to allow them to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understandings within certain courses. Special exams arrangements may be rest breaks or extra working time for example. Please note that an SEA application is also required for a student that needs to bring medication or other unauthorised materials into an exam room. The most recent information explaining the application process is available on the SCSA website. For further information please click HERE.
It is important that families understand that a Special Examination Arrangement (SEA) requires an application, inclusive of supporting evidence, and approval from SCSA in Year 12 ATAR courses. Applications for ATAR Special Examination Arrangements need to be made to the School Curriculum and Standards Authority by March next year.
Students who are currently using SEAs will receive an email in the next week. Please read the information carefully and commence gathering the required documentation. If your child does not have special exam arrangements but after reviewing the information on the SCSA website you feel they may be entitled to one, please email Aaron.Carroll@education.wa.edu.au as soon as possible.
