Adolescent Sleep and Depression Trial
A research project at the University of Western Australia (UWA) is seeking the participation of young people aged 13-18 experiencing depression. Since up to 90% of young people with depression experience sleep problems, we are investigating whether targeting sleep can improve treatment outcomes for depression.
Over nine weeks, students will receive evidence-based treatment for depression (behavioural activation), and half will also receive sleep treatment. These treatment sessions will be conducted via telehealth by provisional psychologists under the supervision of a registered clinical psychologist. Treatment is free of charge.
Participation involves completing research activities at UWA on five occasions, across ight months, and participants receive a $20 gift card as remuneration for each of these sessions.
If you have any interest, or would like to know more, please contact Dr Cele Richardson at teenmood@uwa.edu.au
