ALL YEARS: MEET THE NEW STUDENT SERVICES STAFF
We have recently welcomed two new staff members to the Student Services Team:
Aaron Carroll
Manager Senior Years
"I am excited to be joining the Perth Modern School Student Services team for the duration of 2023. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Biology from Edith Cowan University in 2005. In 2011, I successfully attained my Graduate Diploma of Education. Over the past decade, I have dedicated a substantial portion of my career to educating students in Science across multiple schools within the Perth Metro region. More recently, I have transitioned into roles within Student Services, where my focus has been on nurturing pastoral care and promoting student well-being. I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to become acquainted with the Senior Years students of Perth Modern and to contribute to their holistic growth and success, both within the classroom and beyond."
School Psychologist
"After several years working in schools as a Psychologist in the beautiful Kimberley region of Western Australia, I am excited to be a part of the Perth Modern community.
I believe that people can achieve anything they set their mind to, and a supportive environment can help them achieve their goals and aspirations. I am passionate about helping young people develop the skills they need to navigate difficult situations that occur during periods of transition and change. I believe that people have innate strengths and resilience that will support them to overcome challenges, but sometimes just need a helping hand to reconnect with these parts of themselves. It’s an honour to be working with such a brilliant, vibrant and courageous group of young people and I look forward to contributing to the Perth Modern community into the future."

ALL YEARS - HOUSE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
We are very much looking forward to our annual House Athletics Carnival on Wednesday August 23 at the WA Athletics Stadium. The day is a celebration of the culture at Perth Modern and is especially significant for Year 12 students, in that it is their last whole school House event. All details for the day have been communicated via Compass and if any parents have further questions, please email the Head of HPE, Mark Muir on mark.muir@education.wa.edu.au
Subiaco Road will be very busy on the morning of August 23 with many buses arriving between 8.30 and 9.00 am. If parents can find an alternative place to drop off students and avoid these areas, it would be greatly appreciated.
Students need to be at school and report to their Advocacy class at the earlier time of 8.30 am on Wednesday, August 23. In order to complete the carnival program, the day will be longer than the usual Wednesday timetable day with the carnival finishing at 3pm and students returning to school at approximately 3.30pm.
ALL YEARS - EARLY CLOSE ON THURSDAY, 24 AUGUST
EARLY CLOSE THURSDAY, 24 AUGUST
To compensate for the longer day at the House Athletics Carnival on Wednesday, 23 August school will finish at the end of Period 5 (2.30pm) on Thursday, 24 August.
