Dear Parents and Caregivers
It is wonderful to see our students well underway and back in Term 3. A term full of events, with the school production 'Legally Blonde: The Musical' on now with five sessions that we hope you all are able to attend and enjoy. I thank all staff and students for their tremendous efforts in putting on this wonderful production.
I am writing to let you know that our second allotment of free RATs for each student have now been delivered to the school.
These free RATs will support our students to continue to attend school for face-to-face learning and will minimise disruption to their schooling. You will be able to test your child at home if they are feeling unwell. You can also use these RATs if your child is a close contact to enable them to test daily and continue to attend school, as long as they receive a negative result, remain asymptomatic, and wear a mask.
We will start handing out these RATs as follows:
- Years 7, 8 and 12 students will receive their RATs on Thursday, 4 August during period 4 Advocacy.
- Students in Years 7, 8, and 12 who are absent on Thursday, 4 August (including Years 7, 8, and 12 students in cast, crew and music for Legally Blonde) to collect their RATs Monday, 8 August during Advocacy.
- Years 9, 10 and 11 students will receive their RATs on Thursday, 11 August during Period 4 Advocacy.
- Any student who is absent on their RAT allocation day can collect their RATs on Monday, 15 August during Advocacy. They will be made available from the Finance counter in Andrews.
Tests are not to be opened at school by students. Please note that RATs are labelled ‘Keep out of Reach of Children’ as a TGA requirement. As such, these RATs should not be opened by children and when used, must be either supervised or performed by an adult.
If your child becomes symptomatic, they should stay home and be tested for COVID-19. You should notify the school if your child tests positive for COVID-19. Refer to healthywa.wa.gov.au for the latest information on close contact definition, testing and isolation requirements.
Our email address for all COVID-19 related information is: PerthModern.CovidSupport@education.wa.edu.au
Thank you for your continued efforts in keeping our school COVID-19 safe.
Warm regards
Mitchell Mackay
Principal
Perth Modern School
