SUBJECT SELECTIONS FOR 2025

We’re pleased to advise your child’s subject selections for next year will be made through Subject Selection Online (SSO). Selections will be available for students in Years 11, 10 and 9 after 4.00pm on 24 June, and for students in Years 8 and 7 after 4.00pm on 26 June.

To access the school’s SSO site, your child will need to go to the login page link in Compass - School Favourites or the school website under parent essentials and use the username/password sent to students and parents via email. SSO login emails with instructions will be sent on the day SSO opens for your year group.

What do I need to do as a parent/carer?

Discuss the selections with your child. Curriculum Handbooks describing the subjects for Middle Years 7-9 and courses for Senior Years 10-12 are on our website.

Any help that you require, from problems with logging in, to questions about the selection process should be answered by the school via email. Please note that the company that provides SSO cannot directly assist you.

Once SSO has closed and school planning is underway there is no guarantee subject selections can be changed, therefore prior planning and careful consideration must be taken prior to submitting selections. In Semester 2 some opportunity to change a selected subject may occur in Year 8 and 9, but limited vacancies can mean not all requests to change subjects can be fulfilled. In the majority of cases, students will be able to study their selected SSO subjects, and a reserve subject selection given when required.

When you’ve completed the selection process, you’ll be required to download and submit a Parent/Guardian signed copy of your SSO Selection Report to Student Services Reception, or email with attachment to PerthModern.CourseSelectionEnquiries@education.wa.edu.au

Payment for 2025 subjects is not required or accepted through SSO. Please wait for your Subject Charges and accounts to arrive towards the end of Term 4, 2024.

MOD CLUBS FOR SEMESTER TWO, 2024

To be advertised via Compass and selected in SSO from Tuesday 16 July the Mod Club classes commence Term 3, Week 2, from Monday 22 July. These classes are optional, non‑assessed and available to students in Years 7-11. Popular clubs fill quickly and have capacity limits, please check Compass News and student emails on Monday, 15 July for information and login details.
