Additional Opportunities Within Your P&C

Firstly, congratulations to all who were elected onto the P&C for 2023. A special thank you to the Year 7 parents who have taken on a position. It really was lovely to see many new faces at our AGM this week, in person and online. There remain a few formal opportunities available within our P&C and FoM subcommittee for people with a little time to give to assist in achieving great outcomes for our school and students. These include year level social co-ordinators, a communications co-ordinator and future events co-ordinator.

This year we would really hope to see the return of P&C supported year level social co-ordinators. Before Covid-19 social coordinators prompted opportunities to socialise as a year group and provided an excellent way for families and parents to meet and share their experiences in a social settings. How can the P&C help? We can help with reaching out to your year level by including events as part of P&C information in the School Information Updates and via emails to parent contacts using our data base, provision of some access to insurance via our affiliation with WACSSO and access to others who have ideas and helpful tips who have taken on the role before. Examples of social events that may occur once or twice a term may include: catch up for parents at local cafes either after drop off or before pick up, weekend family picnics at places like Matilda Bay, dinners at restaurants on nights there is a school dinner dance/social event involving your child, bowling and ice-skating.

P&C Second-hand Uniform Shop (SHUS)

The Second Hand Uniform Shop is located in the Andrews Building.

Our opening days are:

Term 1:

Monday, 27 February 8.30am to 12.30pm
Monday, 13 March 8.30am to 12.30pm
Monday, 27 March 8.30am to 12.30pm

The P & C SHUS volunteers are delighted to receive any good quality, clean and resaleable uniform items that are no longer required. Please hand the items in at reception or directly at the SHUS at any of our opening days.

School Support

P&C members were pleased to approve a number of school submissions to support our students including:

Interactive Screen for the computer lab in Gardham Building $6,495
Filming Equipment $17,263
Equipment for the Gym $9,300
Sports Uniforms $1,700
Conversations Series $3,100

Total school submissions approved using P&C funds $37,858

P&C Next Meeting

Our next P&C meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at 7.00pm in the McCusker Boardroom in the Beasley Building. All parents and interested citizens are welcome. A link to the agenda and instructions to join online will be posted on our Facebook page. If you are coming along in person, please come for an informal catch-up from 6.30pm. The formal meeting (and online) will start at 7.00pm.
